Arrival
When you approach the lower village head down the hill, its very steep and there are people with their heads down staggering up the middle of the road, try to avoid them as you go round the double hairpin, then relax the road widens and you can pull over for as long as it takes to unload – everyone is used to it so no need to worry.
The cottage is now just to your left, go up the famous cobbled steps opposite the Bakery Tea Rooms and first left is Sunny Place, The Old Bakehouse is at the end.
Parking
The Cottage has a “Zone Pass” for Whitby and Scarborough allowing free parking in designated streets for a designated time, ideal for that day trip to Scarborough’s sea-life centre or the beach at Whitby.
The Parking Permit is in the kitchen, usually on the table, grab this and then pop the car in one of the two council car parks at the top of the hill; One opposite the Victoria Hotel and, if full, one opposite the Grosvenor Hotel.
