The Old Bakehouse
A cracking home from home, The Old Bakehouse Cottage in Sunny Place, Robin Hoods Bay, is a curl-up-with-a-book sort of place with the North Sea just round the corner crashing against the sea walls. But when the tide retreats the beach is a world of rock pools, fossil hunting and numerous coastal walks will await.
Yorkshire Holiday Cottages 4 star accommodation
“exceptional standard of cleanliness, décor and historic feel to the place”
The space
A white-painted former bakehouse on a cobbled walkway called Sunny Place, deep in the labyrinth that is lower ‘Baytown’, the property retains many traditional features but offers comforts of the modern day. This fabulously located cottage is within a stones throw of everything Robin Hoods Bay has to offer.
This home makes you feel warm as soon as you arrive and is filled with the character you would expect from a period cottage. Watch out for the sloping ceilings, exposed beams, wonky floors and relax and curl up with a book with the North Sea just round the corner crashing against the sea walls.
You enter through the kitchen door to reveal a high vaulted kitchen bedecked with baking memorabilia & artefacts. All you need for a self-catering holiday, including gas hob, oven, washer-drier, and dishwasher. The lounge, with its wood burning stove soon gets a cosy atmosphere going, with quirky seaside stuff like nautical lamps and pictures. Two huge leather sofas are ideal to chill and relax on. For your entertainment: A free-view TV . The cottage has a new fast WiFi service which should keep everyone happy.
On the first floor is a double room with feature bed and old fireplace. The dressing area has room for a cot (provided). This cottage is ideal for kids, and when they find their room right at the top it’s a real treat – two single beds with feather duvets and plenty of space to play their gadgets and games.
Take a coastal walk, spend the day on the beach as the tide goes out, or watch the fishermen’s boats bobbing on the horizon. Guests staying in Robin Hoods Bay will find an abundance of things to see and do during their stay.
